CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT - HIGH DESERT STATE PRISON Part-time position at High Desert State Prison (HDSP) in Susanville, CA. 20 hours per week. Job Description And Duties Under the supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) II/III, Correctional Facility (CF), and the clinical direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) CF and other licensed nursing team members, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs patient care activities and related nonprofessional health care activities for patients in a variety of treatment facilities and health care settings. The CNA is primarily responsible for performing basic nursing care procedures such as assisting patients with physical care and activities of daily living, ensuring patient safety, and suicide watch activities including suicide precautions and restraint monitoring. The CNA addresses the ongoing needs of patients, works with the licensed nursing staff and other health care providers, and promotes efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources. Limited Term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent. Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 20 and related employees to have base salary reductions and receive PLP 2025 leave credits through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on hours worked. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a valid Nursing Assistant Certificate issued by the California Department of Public Health.
