Job Description

The role of our JCC Fitness Floor Trainer position is to monitor the fitness center floor, provide instructions to our members on safely using the equipment and keeping the equipment clean.

Hours: Early Morning Hours 4:45 AM - 9:00 AM on Mondays and Wednesdays; also Monday-Thursday 5:00PM - 9:00PM.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor Fitness Center floor (maintain a presence on floor throughout shifts)
• Provide information to JCC members on equipment in an instructional and safe manner.
• Cleaning of fitness center equipment (following daily agenda)/clearing of plates, dumbbells from benches and floor.
• Present a professional demeanor at all times when representing the JCC.
• Maintain a safe well-rounded environment for all participants in Fitness Center.
• Maintain current CPR/AED Certification
• Maintain a safe well-rounded environment for all clients.
• Ability to work well with other JCC Staff members working toward a common goal to serve members.
• Must understand and be able to administer emergency procedures such as evacuation and fire alarms.
• Report any issues (safety hazards, malfunctioning equipment, unclean conditions) to Fitness Coordinator/Assistant Fitness Director
• Enforce rules and guidelines of the Fitness Center for participants
• Participate in quarterly scheduled staff meetings.
• Responsible for shift coverage once scheduled.
• Wear proper uniforms/name badges.
• Restrict personal cell use during shifts.

Required Education & Experience:

• High school graduate
• Must hold CPR/AED certification (within 3 months of hire date)
