Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician Needed (ASAP - Ongoing) An exciting locum tenens opportunity is available for an Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Physician near Oakdale, TN. Job Details: Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing End Date: Flexible with potential extension Coverage Type: 24-hour call-only Practice Setting: Inpatient, no outpatient requirements Bed Capacity: 6 in the OB/GYN department EMR System: MEDHOST Key Responsibilities: Patient Volume: The physician will be responsible for 3 patients per shift on average. Admissions: Required during call shifts. Rounding: The physician will round on both admitted patients and those in active labor. Deliveries and Procedures: Perform both vaginal and C-section deliveries as well as other gynecological surgeries as needed. Certification and Licensing Requirements: Board Certification: Board-eligible physicians are welcome to apply; board certification is not mandatory. Licensing: Active Tennessee medical license required. Certifications: ABLS (Advanced Burn Life Support): Required ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support): Required ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support): Not required BLS (Basic Life Support): Not required PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Not required Additional Details: Temporary Privileges: Available for this position, making the credentialing process faster. Estimated Credentialing Time: 5 days Team and Support: Physicians will have access to a team of medical professionals and support staff to assist with patient care and operations. Rounding and On-Call Responsibilities: Rounding is required, and the physician must remain available for call duties throughout the shift. Scheduling Needs: The position is open due to a temporary scheduling need, and ongoing coverage is required. Flexibility is highly valued. Ideal Candidate: Experience: Physicians with previous inpatient OB/GYN experience are preferred. Fellowship training is a plus but not required. Skills: Physicians must be comfortable handling deliveries and gynecological surgeries in a hospital setting. Location Flexibility: The provider should be comfortable with rural or semi-rural hospital environments and willing to provide 24-hour call coverage.
